Horror Comedy (Camp/Sci-Fi) Feature Film

Two home repairmen pose as members of a religious cult in order to solve a grisly murder. They are soon caught up in a battle with a female cult and a menacing extra-terrestrial.

About the Director
Andrew Neighill is the award-winning creator of Mary from the Prayer Ward and Death Wheel.  In addition to being featured in numerous film festivals, his films have won awards from Hollywood Horrorfest; LA International Horror Film Festival; LA Indie Horror Fest; Sci-fi, Action and Horror International Film Festival; Religion Faith International Film Festival; Film Basement Horror Film Awards; and The San Antonio Horror Film Festival. Mary from the Prayer Ward is currently distributed by Blood Pact Films. Death Wheel will be released by Blood Pact Films in fall 2026.

Audition Information

THE CULT is ready to recruit! If you are interested in audition for this film, please read through the information below and fill out the Audition Registration Form.

  • Date/Time: Saturday, March 7th at 10AM-4PM

  • Location of Auditions: 1014 Broadway Street, Lubbock Texas 79401 (Downtown Lubbock)

  • First time actors are welcome. No previous experience is required. This project is supportive of local talent.

  • Shooting Location(s): Lubbock Area

  • Union Status: Non-union

  • Compensation/Meals/Lodging/Travel: None  (small stipends may be possible)

  • Content Warnings: Violence, Language, Sexual Humor

  • Project Timeline: Flexible 45 day shoot beginning August 2027 (many characters and extras will only be needed a select few days within this timeframe)

  • Callbacks will be held at the same location on Sunday, March 8th between 12pm and 4pm. If you cannot make the callback date/time, please let us know and we will accommodate as best as possible. 

Preparing for the Audition

  • Please bring a 00:30-01:00 monologue. Additional cold-read material may be provided by the director during the audition.

  • Check-in instructions and additional information will be emailed to you prior to the audition date.

  • Tone Notes for Casting Call: This project requires actors comfortable with:

    • Heightened Southern dialect

    • Physical comedy

    • Horror imagery and gore

    • Tonal shifts between absurdity and dread

    • Ensemble chemistry

Video Submissions

For video submissions, please follow the instructions within the Audition Registration Form. We ask that all video auditions be a self-taped audition (1–2 minutes in length). Begin your video with a brief slate stating your name and the role you are auditioning for. Perform a short monologue in a camp/horror/comedic style. Frame your video in a medium shot (chest-up), ensure clear lighting and sound, and avoid heavy editing, filters, or background music. Submissions must be received by March 7, 2026 at 4:00PM.
